Echo · Study Time
How long does Echo (RDCS) usually take to prepare for?
About 1–2 months for most people, with an extra month if you find the circulation hard to piece together.
Echo · Study Resources
Can I pass Echo (RDCS) with URR alone?
Yes. URR alone is enough for Echo, so you don't need to spend time hunting for other resources.
Echo · After Failing
I've failed Echo several times (e.g., five times) — how should I prepare differently?
The same problem applies, and Echo adds one more: it takes more thinking than memorizing.
Echo · After Failing
When retaking Echo, should I repeat the same material or change my approach?
The material isn't the problem, so don't switch it just because you failed. What needs to change is how you find your gaps.
Echo · Exam Strategy
Should I focus on memorizing or understanding for Echo calculation questions?
Neither one needs much of your time. Calculation questions on the Echo exam are simple and a small part of the exam, so if they're hard for you, it's fine to let them go.
Echo · Exam Strategy
How should I divide my study time between Echo topics like congenital heart disease, acquired heart disease, and valvular disease?
Follow the percentages in the Echo Content Outline. Spend more time on the higher-weighted areas and less on the lower-weighted ones.
Echo · Study Resources
Is the real Echo exam closer to URR or Prepry?
There's no way to know. Every study resource is a set of predicted questions, and the real exam can feel different from all of them.
Echo · Exam Difficulty
People say Echo is harder than other ARDMS exams — how hard does it actually feel?
Not necessarily. How hard an exam feels differs from person to person, and in my experience Echo isn't harder than the others.
