Building Readiness

22 of 30 correct · weakest domain: Apply Doppler Concepts

Q21. On a spectral waveform, wall filters (high-pass filters) are used to remove which kind of signal?

Missed
  • A. High-frequency, low-amplitude noise
  • B. Low-frequency, high-amplitude clutter from vessel wall motion
  • C. High-velocity turbulent flow
  • D. Signals returning from deep structures only

Moving vessel walls and surrounding tissue produce low-frequency, high-amplitude Doppler shifts that would otherwise clutter the spectral display. Wall filters cut this out — but they cut out everything below the set threshold, real flow included.

Smarter exam planning

Before You Pay for the Exam, Know Where You Stand.

ARDMS exams are a serious investment. Taking the exam before you're ready can mean paying the fee again — and losing more time preparing for a retake.

ReadyScore gives you a lower-cost way to check your current readiness first, identify weak areas, and make a more informed decision about when to schedule your exam.
